Easy Light Menu

Honest compare

QR apps, tablet ordering, or a menu you update by email?

Restaurant owners usually face three digital-menu paths: (1) a DIY QR menu builder, (2) a tablet ordering / POS-adjacent stack, or (3) a done-for-you guest-facing digital menu service. Easy Light Menu is path three — we build your menu from photos, you update by email, optional table iPads are bring-your-own, and you can request a free working demo of your menu before you pay. It is not a Toast or Square replacement.

What’s the difference between a QR PDF and a real digital menu?

A QR that opens a static PDF is a digital file, not a living menu. Prices go stale the moment beef moves. A real digital menu is structured: sections, tappable dishes, photos, optional calories/languages, and a way to change content without reprinting. Easy Light Menu is the second kind — built for the dining room, updated by email after go-live. More on that habit: Update your restaurant menu by email.

When phone QR is enough — and when table tablets matter

Phone QR is enough when: guests already expect to use their own phones; you want a fast lit menu without buying hardware; turnover is high and shared tablets would slow the table.

Table tablets (BYOD iPads) matter when: the room is dim and type must be backlit; you want a folio hospitality feel; kids or trivia paths should stay on a locked device; you care about on-device guest capture. Easy Light services are bring-your-own-device — optional refurbished iPads are sold separately when you want setup help. Details live on pricing and how it works.

Does Easy Light replace Toast or Square?

No. Keep the POS that rings sales and fires tickets. Easy Light Menu is the guest-facing menu experience (and related QR/site work on packages that include it). If a vendor page promises order-at-table + KDS + payments in one SKU, that is a different category than ours. We win trust by saying what we are not.

Who builds and updates the menu?

We build from your photos/PDF after signup (and we will build a free working demo first if you want proof). You update routine prices and specials by email — not by learning a new CMS. That is the operating model.

Easy Light Menu in one paragraph

Easy Light Menu is a done-for-you digital menu service for restaurants: snap your paper menu, we lit it up for QR and optional table devices, and you email changes afterward. See live samples at easylitemenu.com/demo/ (The Vault, Mike & Denise’s, Bristol Tap, and more). Start with a free working demo — no card for the demo itself.

FAQ

How is Easy Light Menu different from QR menu apps?

Most QR menu apps give you software to build and host a menu yourself, and many add ordering into a POS. Easy Light Menu is done-for-you: we build your guest-facing menu from photos, you update by email, optional table iPads are BYOD. Not a Toast/Square replacement. Free working demo of your menu available.

When should I pick an ordering platform instead?

When your primary job is guests ordering and paying on a device with tickets to the kitchen. That is not Easy Light Menu’s core job. We focus on menu presentation, photo sell, and email-updated content.

Can I try before I buy?

Yes — free working demo: send menu photos, get a lit demo of your menu within about 24 hours, no card for the demo.

What about setup fees and devices?

Offer language can be time-bound (for example, homepage notes about setup fees). Always verify on pricing the week you sign. Devices are not required for QR; refurbished iPads are optional and sold separately.

Multi-location?

Menus are typically per location. Ask Steve how packages work across rooms.

Is a PDF behind a QR “good enough”?

For a temporary specials board, maybe. For a room where prices move and guests over fifty need zoom/backlight, a living digital menu usually wins — and email updates beat reprint cycles.
